PayMaker MULTI / EBICS
Infos
What is EBICS?
“Electronic Banking Internet Communication Standard” (EBICS) is a standardized, freely available Internet-based communication protocol for the transfer of files. A multi-level security concept, which is part of the standard, ensures the security of the transported data. This also includes the traceability of all accesses and transmissions.
In addition to being used for data transmission between corporate customers and financial institutions, EBICS is also increasingly being used by financial service providers and service bureaus in the interbank sector. In addition to its widespread use in payment transactions (payment orders, account statements, etc.), EBICS is also increasingly being used for securities and for the transmission of documents (pdf) and master data.
The EBICS SC company was founded by the German banking industry and the French banking industry to maintain the standard. In the meantime, the Swiss financial center and the Austrian banking sector have also joined the association as additional members. However, the use of EBICS is spreading beyond these four national borders to large parts of Europe.

Do I need EBICS?
If you do not yet have an active EBICS contract with your financial institution, we recommend that you talk to your bank advisor about the advantages of the EBICS protocol.
